I had the pleasure of serving as Associate Producer on the film, and Elliot wrote and recorded the title song. The movie will continue its festival run, and we hope to have more exciting news about this er…stellar project soon.

The Gene Clark No Other Tour

This January, I hit the icy roads with The Gene Clark No Other Tour.

Beach House brought together an all-star band to perform Gene Clark’s under-appreciated 1974 album No Other from beginning to end, exactly as it is on the recording, for a week-long tour. The band included members of Fairport Convention, the Fleet Foxes, Grizzly Bear, The Walkmen, Wye Oak, Celebration and more — and I was deeply honored to contribute my piano playing to this musical force of nature and to share the stage with so many artists I admire.

The positive energy throughout the tour was incredible. To have so many talented people join in a common cause and share such a high level of excitement and passion for the project was an indescribable experience. I can only hope that the magnitude of emotions we felt came across on stage as we performed for nearly 5,000 people in Philadelphia, Baltimore, DC and NYC.

A Tiny SXSW!

Phew, made it back from SXSW in one piece! Elliot, House of Resonance’s sound designer, was in Austin this past week as part of the documentary film crew for TINY: A Story About Living Small, for which he supervised the post-production sound. The film, directed by Christopher Smith and Merete Muelle, had its world premiere at the Rollins Theatre, which included a real-life tiny open house!

The film also had encore screenings at the Alamo Village and the Alamo Ritz #1, all of which went off without a hitch. Thanks to everyone who came to see the film and for all their kind words! The film will be making the festival rounds over the spring and summer, so please check it out if you get the chance!

Mac Miller and the Most Dope Family

If one were to tune-in to MTV2 tonight at 11:30pm (10:30c), one would find themselves watching the candid cuts of up-and-coming rap star Mac Miller. More importantly, they would be feasting their ears upon the work of House of Resonance, which has designed and mixed the sound for the show’s intro!

The great thing about doing show intros is that they have the potential to live for decades. We at H.O.R. wish Mac Miller and the extended Most Dope Family long and captivating lifes!

House of Resonance would like to congratulate Shawn Christensen and his short film, Curfew, for, oh, no big deal, just winning an OSCAR Sunday night!

Shawn was the star of another soon-to-debut short film, The Bicycle, for which House of Resonance was fortunate to sound design and compose an original score. The short was directed by Adam Neustadter and Chris McCoy and will, itself, be premiering in North America at the Florida Film Festival and internationally at the Mecal Short Film Festival in Barcelona.

House of Resonance is proud to announce our very first feature film sound design and original score combination effort, Julien & Claire. The film was shot in Paris and the French countryside and stars singer/songwriter Olivier Bernard.

It was a great experience and we are lucky to be part of such a great film by the uber-talented writer/director Adam Neustadter.
